Brazil is not just a country. Brazil is larger than the European Union with an extension of about 4.500 km (2.800 miles) from east to west and from north to south. The country has 190 million inhabitants, a few large economic regions such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre and Manaus.
Brazil offers a unique nature!
On one side the huge lowlands of Amazonia with the largest river on earth, with all its inflows, mainly still untouched nature and where some native tribes live sustained with it. On the other side the highlands, beginning south of Amazonia and reaching to the southern borders of Brazil and to the coast, which is very narrow in the Southeast of Brazil. The coast here is divided by a natural wall: the mountains of the highland, and where is one of the most species-rich forests of the world: tha Atlantic Rain Forest (Mata Atlântica). Nowadays only 2% the original rain forest exist, mainly at the coast from the states of Bahia to Paraná, but also in the inner of Brazil there are a few Nature Reserves. Apart from the unique fauna and flora the rivers inspire with its waterfalls.
Speaking of waterfalls: after Rio de Janeiro the most visited place of Brazil are the waterfalls of Iguaçu in the Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay border triangle.
